You’re spoiled for choice around Lincoln with several hikes to choose from. Take it easy along the Liffey Springs Reserve Walk, a serene 2km trail perfect for families and casual walkers. If you’re into birdwatching, the Lincoln Wetlands Walk is popular among nature lovers.

Once you’ve exhausted yourself with the many downhill thrills available at the Christchurch Adventure Park, just over a 20-minute drive away, head to one of many great bike tracks surrounding Lincoln.

The 49km Little River Rail Trail, from Hornby to Little River, takes you through picturesque farmland, lakes and wetlands. For more of a challenge, try the ups and downs of the nearby Crater Rim Walkway and Rapaki Track.
