A master-planned community that offers more than just housing
As demand for quality housing continues to grow in Lincoln, a new development is setting the standard for what community living should be.
Earlsbrook - the last significant piece of land to be rezoned for residential use in this highly sought-after area - offers a master-planned approach to residential spaces that allows for community-focused features, says Tim Carter from the Carter Group.
“The scale of the project allows us to incorporate details that simply aren’t possible in smaller, isolated developments—extensive green spaces, cycling paths and a true sense of connectivity throughout,” he says.
“The whole subdivision, featuring approximately 2100 sections of various sizes, will be walkable and seamlessly connected to the rest of Lincoln.”
The development is designed to appeal to a wide-range of buyers, he says, including families of all sizes, investors and older buyers looking to build a new home in a well-serviced town.
“We will also support Lincoln as it continues to grow by building more amenities alongside the houses and tree-lined streets.”
Carter plans for those amenities to include a supermarket, a retail hub and a new primary school within the development.
“This is a long-term development that will span 10 years or more,” he says. “We’re taking our time to ensure we offer residents, and investors, neighbourhoods people want to live and spend their time in.”
Likely to be the last significant patch of land in Lincoln to be rezoned for residential development, builders are seeing an opportunity for growth within Earlsbrook.
Bayley’s Sales Specialist and No1 Salesperson Chris Jones says demand for sections during the pre-sale exceeded expectations.
“Without hesitation, all the builders we have spoken to want to be involved. They can see the scale, quality and location are all going to make this a great success,” says Jones.
“That’s the big advantage of a large-scale community such as Earlsbrook. It can be master-planned right from the start to ensure a cohesive and desirable neighbourhood, while allowing buyers to make their mark.”
Lincoln’s location within the scenic Sewlyn District, with a convenient commute to Christchurch, has made it one of Canterbury’s most popular locations. But that growth has also strained available housing, says Jones.
“Lincoln retains its lovely rural and village feel, yet has easy access to the city, great schooling, a university across the road, plus more and more job opportunities,” he says.
“We predict the town’s popularity will only continue to grow among buyers looking for the best of all worlds.”
The family-owned Carter Group is known for its community-focused designs within Canterbury. They are responsible for developing both Hyde Park in Avonhead and Regents Park in Casebrook, which was the first in Christchurch to incorporate streams and lakes.
“It is our intention to ensure Earlsbrook retains Lincoln’s character and country feel,” says Carter. “We’re embracing the natural waterways and unique freshwater springs on the site to ensure the community can continue to enjoy the environment now, and for many years to come.”
